The burial records are found in one of the original registers surrendered following the commencement of General Registration in 1837 and now at the National Archives.

The entry reference numbers have been provided by us. Some of the entries are out of date order but are given in the sequence they appear in the registers. Folio numbers have been stamped onto the sheets of paper, rather than page numbers. Register 3 starts at Folio 5. There is a gap in the records between 1768 and 1785. Sometimes we had to extract birth, baptism and burial details from one entry, so some of the information is not in the form it appears in the register.

An engraving of the old chapel shows gravestones outside and these were apparently transcribed before the new chapel was built in 1869. Records of the memorial inscriptions can be found at Bradford archives under reference 22D94/1. We are told that there was an undercroft under the chapel and that when the chapel was demolished in 1969 the graves were cleared.

Early in the month of January he walkd to Leeds for the purpose of paying the Landtax of wch he had been the collecter, & from that day (after havinge executed his business) disappeared. Seven weeks & some days afterwards persons employed to take sand out of the Rever Aire, below the bridge at Leeds, found the body (nearly sunk) in a sand bed. Coroners Inquest, Verdict Accidental death by causes unknown.
