United Methodist (Salvationist Mission) North Road

In 1886 after years of meeting in homes the Salvationists built a Mission Hall on the Slack on the site where the Library now stands in North Road. It was known locally as 'The Tin Chapel'.  In 1909 an article in the booklet 'Victorian Church Life in Wibsey' says that they joined the Methodist New Connection. The present library is the same building modified.

Baptism records commencing in 1909 and deposited with the Archives say that this congregation were United Methodists. These records have been deposited at Bradford Archives under reference the 57D76/2/1/1A.
