Tabernacle, Shelf
Bethel Chapel began to hold Sunday evening services and a class at Stone Chair in 1875. Two cottages on Cock Hill Lane were rented from Henry Bottomley, a local manufacturer, and converted into a chapel which was opened on the 17th March 1878. It was named 'Tabernacle.' It closed in 1966 and the building is now a private residence.
