North Bierley Poor Relief, 1787
 

This is the North Bierley Township Poor Relief for 1787.It can be found at WYAS Bradford Office ref 15D74/10/2/4

It is headed: 'Assessment for the Necessary Relief of the Poor, and for other purposes in the several Acts of Parliament mentioned, relating to the Poor of the Township of North Bierley in the west Riding of the County of York: made, and assessed the 13th day of October 1787 being first rate of 12 pence in the pound for the year 1787.'

Following the figures it says:

'This is to give Noatis that John Hardaker the Oversear of the Poor of the township of Shelf have got an assessment allowed and confirmed by 2 of his magsteys Justies of the Peas at 3s.-6d. In the pound for the use of the Poare. 13 October 1787 Allowed by our whose names Are under mensted.'

Allowed and confirmed by us two of his Majesty's Justices of the peace for the said Riding the 23rd Day of October 1787. Hen. Wickham J.A. Busfeild
