Cooperville and Buttershaw Methodist Church, Buttershaw

 

Cooperville Methodist Church was opened on the 13th April 1935. It was situated on Bellerby Brow in Buttershaw, just off Mandale Road. Following the construction of the Buttershaw Estate it was renamed the ‘Cooperville and Buttershaw Methodist Church’ and the entrance was moved to the other end of the building. The service of re-dedication took place on the 1st September 1962. The Church closed with a Service of Thanksgiving on the 11th March 2012. The building is now the Cooperville Centre childcare facility belonging to Footprints Family Centre which is a Christian social work organisation based in Buttershaw.
