St. Matthew's Parish Bankfoot

A War Memorial Souvenir booklet was published around 1922 by The War Memorial Committee of St Matthews Church, Bankfoot and complied by J W Firth. They also erected memorial gates, a memorial cross outside the church and inside a memorial shrine, vases and memorial album.

The Memorial lists, in two sections, 1914 to 1919 and 1939 to 1945 are taken from inscriptions on the gates

The Died, Served and Photos Lists are taken from the Memorial Souvenir booklet. The Memorial Souvenir booklet also contains a brief history of the church together with lists and photographs of the committee and other church members and officials. There is a copy of this booklet in the Bradford Central Library, Local Studies Department ref Bradford 283/BAN

The War Graves list was compiled from Commonwealth War Graves Commission memorials still in situ in the graveyard.
